About WE Lead Empowerment.

We Lead Empowerment is a social wellness initiative created by Dorcey Kuti. “We Lead” is an acronym for Women Entrepreneurs Living Everyday w/Anxiety & Depression and this platform provides support and knowledge as we discuss and interview Women Entrepreneurs who LEAD by bringing awareness of mental health, especially among women of color in business, and provide solutions on how to manage it through our podcast, social activities, and initiatives. Despite the explosion of narratives and conversations regarding mental health in minority communities, there was a vast gap in resources available for women of color when WE LEAD EMPOWERMENT was started in 2017. An article was written in the Huffington Post (2014), talks about the high rates of depression among African American women and low rates of treatment. This promoted the thought that we are the fastest-growing group of entrepreneurs in America but the least likely to seek medical help due to lack of resources.
